Man, I've been searching all over the forum about LED tails from ZOMK. There are multiple threads saying that they flicker for 04-06 models, BUT there are people saying that their 03's flicker.

Does anyone know if LED tails from ZOMK have any issues with a 2001?

The LED tails are flicker-free on 2000-2002's. The adaptive braking feature added to later model E53's causes them to flicker, requiring resistors be wired in.

The Zomk tails are made by Sonar and were plug-and-play on my 2001, don't require any coding, are totally error-free, and did I mention they look pimp?

Easy to install if you've got a set of sockets.

Buying them now! Thanks so much!

Did you do anything to the headlights? I want to order LaminX to hide the orange corners, but I don't know what color tint matches best.

Two of the most important things to remember are:
Do not have your window all the way down then open and slam the door. Regulators will break. Always put your car in neutral when parked and see if the x rolls. I'd it does, put your foot back on the brake, pull up e-brake, and then release the brake pedal to relieve the x's weight. Then u can put into park. Follow these two steps religiously or suffer the consequences.

Thanks JST. I actually bought this X5 from my brother (he upgraded to an 08 M3). He hasn't had any of the problems mentioned above, but I'll def. be proactive and take your advice.

This will be my 3rd BMW. Started with an E36, then E46 and now E53.
