My suggestion is to leave the "is" kit on which looks great, and use whatever money you would have spent on the Aero Kit on wheels, DEPO headlights, ACS rear spoiler, blackout grille, or other changes to make your X5 different than the usual 4.6is.

I bought my Aero kit a year and a half ago and when I bought it there was none in the whole country, my dealer had to order it and ship it all the way from Germany and it took about 3 weeks to get here, it was pain in the butt getting this kit plus getting it installed and it was costy, with paint and labor it cost me close to $7000 because I had it installed at the dealer and it wouldn't line up good with the body, not sure why? I took it back 3 times and still the same result. I really regret getting it just because of what it had cost me. honestly if my truck had your kit I wouldn't have even thought about the Aero kit!!

Yes, I have already given thought to all of these posibilities and will absolutely incorporate some of these mods into my truck, but I keep going back to the Aero kit; especially since it was a factory dealer option... your friend's black X5 looks more updated and different than the average X5 without taking away the style that BMW intended. The style 177 wheels were a nice touch.

I like the aero kit better also. Check out getbmwparts.com. They have them listed on their website (you need to know the part number). The prices and shipping costs are very reasonable. I have ordered many parts from them and love their great service and return policy. They are actually a BMW dealership that sells parts online. They are much cheaper than my local dealership prices.

Awesome!
Awesome! thanks... Bekkers.com used to have the OEM kit for around $2000 and somewhere else I saw the same kit for $1700... but I haven't had any luck finding these prices lately. Do you know of any other good sources?

Show me pictures!!!
I would like to see pictures of your X and aero kit... along with the problem areas that you are speaking of. Bekker's told me that it was designed for my specific vehicle and that it would line up correctly with no problems....

I see that the bekkers price of $2049.99 does not include supports and finishers either.

Aero kit
Awesome! Thank you. I don't know why I didn't think to check that tab; I did not come up with anything looking under "shop parts"

If you want to look at the restyle E53 in its Top spec To convince your self on getting one, there has been a Russian movie about that car as a main object while being related in gang activities, which is called Bimmer 2 " БУМЕР 2 "!
The car appears through out the entire movie. ( In the first Movie the Main car is BMW 740IL - LINKS I WILL INCLUDE BELOW) & the BLACK on Black X5 E53 there, is in its top spec from the factory which is equipped with the Aero Kit, in the same Before Restyle model like yours 2000-2004. ( BTW The BODY AERO KIT OPTION FROM THE FACTORY IS AROUND 9.000 EUROS and is Made in Austria) & equipped with 87 style rims which are designed for the pre face lift - same ones that are on the picture of yours. Here is a couple of trailers from youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVTQyWAOg8A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ea6-N7eoVoU & Here is the entire movie if you decide to watch it with somewhat decent auto generated CC in english or any other Language: BIMMER 1 - BMW 740IL E38 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-qMtxfJynI (Captions are actually good) BIMMER 2 - BMW X5 E53 4.8 AERO KIT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy7Dmj_voBE (Captions ARE SO SO) its about a gang story that has developed around that BMW X5 and came back as a bad karma in a Bumerang effect and punished everyone. I PERSONALLY WAS BLESSED TO GET THE AERO KIT ON MY HANDS - but it will have to go through minor repairs, and repainting. But my x5 is 2006 - 4.4 and I have both the 20" 87 & 168 style rims just in case of my BMW Addiction Disorder desease caprise. To be honest, for your Before REstyle X5 the AERO KIT WILL LOOK ABSOLUTELY STUNNING with those wheels and on the Black Colour. The only thing i dont like about that kit is that it hides the Stainless steel side step so I am thinking on fabricating one for myself once I will install the Aero Kit. And one more important thing is IF YOU will get the KIT make sure that it has all the pieces that include 4 door panels which mostly go missing because some Customers ordered a half aero kit which doesnt look as a proper Breed. Sort of wannabe Aero Kit look. I am currently looking on blacking out my X5 completely as well as giving it a fresh feel and look & BTW Here is a video on the BLACK COSMOS TRIM interior that im constantly improving if you are curious https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jjjbku2ys3U SUPPORT THE CHANNEL IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. Definitelly those mechanics deserve some hard roasting after not being able to keep the gaps factory. I Assume that the poor skilled dealership is located in the states? As its a typical issue in North America... to have a team of pot head Garage workers that are poorly skilled. in 89% of the cases |
