X5 Transmission replacement / compatibility ?

Can anyone confirm if 2000 X5 4.4i transmission is the same as on 2002 X5 4.6is ? Any certify tech out there that would know this ? Thank you.

Pretty sure the tranny is the same, but have different torque converters.

Per a certified tech (Weasel), aside from the higher stall TC, the 4.6iS trany is beefier...PM him for more info.

I'd like to know if i could put a tranny for a 4.6i in my 01 4.4i. If so is there anything else that would have to be changed?
