Another 4.8is in the family!

Our family just picked up yet another 2005 X5 4.8is yesterday! I guess 1 wasnt enough?!

Anyways, it is Titanium Silver over Black with 4.6is wheels and has 57k miles and has CPO warranty to 3/07/2011. Since the CPO is almost up, I want to make sure that every possible thing is addressed before then. So far this is what I have come up with, but am not sure whether CPO will cover all this:

1. Driver’s seatback squeaks when leaning into seatback/lumbar.
2. Passenger side-view mirror tilts up and down erratically when putting car in reverse when in auto-tilt mode.
3. Driver’s door check strap squeaks and makes a clicking sound when opening/closing door.
4. Rear cargo privacy screen doesn’t seem to retract on left side. Hangs loose on left side when retracted.
5. Brief screech/chirp sound heard from engine during initial throttle tip-in when accelerating firmly.
6. Headlights dont steer.

Any suggestions or input would be appreciated.

Nice choice if I may say so.
Unfortunately under cpo many of the listed things won't traditionally be covered. Only the mechanical items that have to do with the vehicle actually driving for the most part. That's kind of a broad brush I used, I'm sure the what is/isn't covered under cpo is around here somewhere. I'm taking mine in tomorrow for an oil leak. Good luck.

Make sure some pertinent SIBs have been performed.

I found that my 2005 4.8is (which was covered up until 12/2010) needs a DME (engine management), EGS (auto trans), VTG (transfer case), and DSC software updates. DME and EGS were covered under an SIB.

Also check to see if sunroof cassette has been replaced. It was redesigned and recommended for replacement under another SIB. Check to see if A pillar and rear are not leaking on sunroof.

Will the dealer willingly perform these updates under CPO even if there arent any issues with the runnability of the car?

Any idea of the SIB #'s?

I couldn't find the DME one, but attached are three (CCV,EGS,Sunroof). If phrased correctly and worked with your SA it might be covered under CPO, but that is pure speculation on my part.
