For me 13,000 miles would be acceptable on a performance oriented vehicle. 20k is very good, anything beyond that you are probably driving on hockey pucks.
The only time I surprised myself was when I got through a set of Pirellis on my Carrera in 3000 miles in fairly normal city commuting but they were great tires!

These grip like crazy in the wet. Cant comment on snow, I live in FL. I'd hardly call them hockey pucks. Alignment setup has a lot to do with how tires wear on our E53's.
