LED angel eyes

Any idea how to do this on the E53? I am looking for the same effect as the current X5.

You can look them up on ebay for example. Just make sure they are error free (not throwing OBC errors since they are LED) and not that they are not flickering. The rest is plug-n-play.

Before you buy anything make sure you can open your light units! I'm not sure about europe but know that US vehicles later than around mid-2002 have lights units that cannot be opened easily to allow fitting of the AE's. You may need to buy headlights already fitted with AE's or buy a set of pre-2002 lights if this is the case.

On EU models, you just have to change the bulbs. The AE circles will then be lighted with the colder/whiter light from the LEDs, instead of the halogen-ish one from the OEM bulbs.

I never imagined it would be this easy. Can you direct me to the type/model through a link?

I always buy them locally, since the shipping itself from DE or wherever, costs as much as the LEDs. However, there was a recent thread (and probably many other older ones) where a user bought them from ebay and they were alright, no errors or other issues. The ebay item link was there too.
Overall, you can buy any LEDs set for E53 from ebay, just as long as they are error free and they have no flickering. You could ask the seller prior to buying.

I have been on many forums and websites, they do not have anything for the 04-06' yrs x5. They only thing they have are LED bulb upgrades which I did and it is a little improvement from stock but nothing like the current upgraded lights available such as 60LED Angel Eye rings and FX-R Projectors (badass)! For some reason, the adhesive they used to bond the housing can not be baked apart light other years. I am highly disappointed because those headlights really stand out and look awesome. I did however take a drive up to umnitza from umnitza.com and someone said I could cut the housing open and glue them back, but I am still debating if I want to go that far. He says you can not see the cuts when installed so I am still debating.

Ooops! of course non of my statement matters if you have a pre-facelift e53!

Cambus ballast are a quality product that are WAY less likely to throw errors but are a little more expensive. I upgraded my fogs to HID with Cambus ballasts and no errors what so ever.

Oh yeah also in my research, pre-facelift models you can upgrade the actual rings not just change the bulb too...it all has to do with the adhesive and the ability to remove the clear lens from the housing...

Now i'm confused, I just want to replicate the same effect as the current LED angel eyed X5. What do I need? Just an LED blulb or do I need to change the whole ring?
