Happy birthday to your son! Nothing like a warm welcome to E53 ownership like a broken door handle.

Three options for cold winter:

1) install engine autostart with the remote for the car
2) retrofit handle bar to be heated
3) or use webasto with the remote

I just installed these today - they are definitely brighter. Holy crap. Though now I feel a need to do a full interior LED replacement. Never been a fan of that yellow light. Anyone know the bulb sizes for the front overhead lights?

I did a full interior LED makeover and for me it is a fantastic look. Brighter and whiter.

Festoons go in the bottom door panels and rear seat base and front footwells and glove box and also in the visor mirrors.

The overheads are conventional T10s and do OK with conventional single LED facing downward as well as the side view mirror puddle lights.

Something like this is what I have in my T10 overheads and mirror puddle lights

Sweet, thank you. Ordering today. My biggest concern is being too bright. My ideal is about a 20% increase in brightness with a shift to white (~6000k) light. I saw a few kits online promising surface-of-the-sun brightness.

I'm running 6smd festoons in the footwell and lower door panels and I believe they are 36mm.

Check your housing to be sure they will work for you I may have stretched the contacts in my housing to fit the 36mm but no harm was done to the connector

Here is an SMD spec guide to see what wattage and lumen ratings the various SMDs have

Twenty bulbs for $7? Say what you will about globalization, consumerism, trade politics and the American manufacturing economy - I love cheap electronics.

With enough left over to update my 750il too! This might be the first time I picked up eBay parts that weren't China or Latvia.
