Yeah. That's why shortly after I changed the fuel pump in the M3 to a radium/Walbro unit.
That was on borrowed time at 150k miles for sure.
Might be in my head, but the car felt stronger after the new fuel pump.

Placebo effect for sure. If your fuel pump is weak enough to feel it you will for sure get lean codes

Then quite likely you had more power after the repair! The pump as it wears usually will get weaker and weaker until it goes. It can get weak enough to not siphon and you starve of fuel with 1/4 tank or just not supply enough fuel per injector squirt.

The computer uses math to determine how many milliseconds to spray the injector and the math is based on a given constant fuel pressure. If the pressure is low you will get insufficient fuel.

Ordered a new OEM 82mm BMW emblem for my hood (bonnet) after the old one took a hit from a rock and lost a big chunk from it. Then a few hundred kms later (I did ~1,000kms o the weekend) I saw the remainder lift up and then disappear over the roof.

Pretty ugly glue-mess left on the base and that's all....

Changed my wife's worn out tires to some 80% tread winter tires.

Then showed off the grippy winter tires.

That's polished ice about a foot tall.

We got about 26 inches of snow yesterday, which is too much for my Mazda sedan just due to ground clearance. So the X got some cold weather exercise. It does pretty good in the snow with its all terrain tires. But next year I'm gonna get some real studless tires.

It's so much snow that pretty much anything can get stuck...

What did you do to / for your E53 today??

The 80% are the ones on the car now. The close up is the 0.8% I just took off.

@BDC: I was so shocked at how terribly "all season" tires perform, I switched to studless winter rear 'round for both of our X5s.
