3.0d wind noise through sunroof drain

My 2006 3.0D has a panoramic sunroof.

Since I've had the car the left/front sunroof drain has a lot of wind noise coming up the sunroof drain.

THe diesel model has a webasto block heater which has a small exhaust pipe and muffler that sits right next to where the sunroof drain emerges under the vehicle. It appears that this creates turbulance in the air going past the sunroof drain exit and causes the rubber drain valve to flutter open.

The dealer "fixed" this by putting a rubber hose on the end of the drain exit and stuffing it into the plastic running board hosing on the sill. This reduced the noise buts its still noticable.

The right hand drain is quiet. I tried putting a new drain exit valve on the LH drain but the valve is so delicate I can see that it wouldnt take a lot of turbulance to blow/suck it open.

Has anyone else come across this problem, interested to know if there are any fixes.

Chris

This is a new one to me!My mechanics hate working on these pano-roofs.
We had a few problems where we had to replace the sunroof seal rubbers, some even under warranty, but we never had any customer complaints with your issue, sorry
