Bit of a trade up? 3.0 -> 4.8

This morning I put a deposit down on an '04 4.8is. I have driven an '04 3.0 for the past 7 years and ~98K miles. I started out with it out of pure necessity with the arrival of a new baby. Now, I love the thing. The only thing I wish it had was more power- and maybe a few less miles. Oh, and if only it were LeMans Blue.

Syoo.. I will post more later, but this is what I put a deposit on this AM. Please feel free to offer advice on what to expect out of the 4.8 in care and maintenance. The 3.0 has been rock solid.

Hard to believe that's the actual mileage. What tires are on it? They should have most of the tread and they should me michelins. If not I'd be skeptical

It's at a BMW dealer with full service records. I have ran the VIN at my local dealer as well. All looks good and service checks out. A buddy of mine is swinging by the dealer as he is in town for business on Thursday. If all checks out, I fly out on Sat morning.

I requested that they replace the tires with new Latitudes. I didn't want to have 7 year old rubber for a long trip home. PLus, I think there may be some liability if they sell a car with old rubber and the tires start coming apart.

Here are a couple interior shots:

the tires look new but the treads don't look like michelin diamaris to me.... so I suspect the mileage

I think those are Latitudes. Check the pics taken about 5 mins ago from my own X5 with 20" Lattys:

That is one of the best color combo's I have seen on an X5. Did they trade you straight across for the 3.0?

Those are 100% diamaris tires.. The tread is different than the latitudes
