BMW iPod Interface

Thanks for the advise fullmetaljacket, but unfortunately I don't have a LCD touchscreen. I have a regular NON-DSP radio with single CD. Half the pixels are gone and I'm clueless as to what I should do. I'm thinking of putting in an aftermarket stereo but I don't want to lose the original look.

I'm not the most mechanically inclined so I don't want to start pulling out radios either. Something that's plug and play would work for me.

That radio is plug n play. Just pull on the volume knob and it comes right off. Then use a T-2 torque screwdriver and it pulls forward from the left. I couldn't believe how well it worked at coming out.

Then either do the DIY for pixel fix or go with German Audio Tech ($165 + $10 to ship it to them).

For the Aux input of an iPod/iPhone, go with the original BMW part ($35). That is the most solid connection and easy to do. I am doing this next, but am trying to find the best price for the Aux Input part (ECS Tuning, eBay or other).

Note: I drove my neighbors to a group dinner last night and boy was I glad to have my pixels fixed.
