Transmission

I just recently purchased a 2005 4.8is and I have read many articles in the forum about the Transmission delay into reverse because thats the problem I am having, But only after the Transmission has warmed up after like a 20 mile drive, short trips the problem will not happen. Any idea on what the problem could be? Thanks

I only know to check the simple and obvious reasons: fluid level, software update, or it is about to give out.

crewj – I am having the exact same problem with my 2006 4.8is with 34K miles. I have taken it to the dealer at least six times for the same reason and dealer says the delay (about 3 sec when the car is warm) is within tolerance.
I am waiting for dealer to schedule an appointment with the field engineer that comes to the dealer once a month to evaluate my car.
This delay is annoying and in some cases even unsafe.
