X5 listed as worst of the worst!

In the last 12 months -

Transmission - rebuilt
Fuel pump - replaced
Sunroof - repaired
Air suspension - replaced

It's left my wife stranded and had to be towed twice, and has been off the road for a total of nearly 2 months in that time.

At 90,000K's now so planning to change the entire cooling system within the next 12 months as well.

Not to mention the normal consumable items required almost annually such as :
Brake pads and discs
New tyres

Other than that it's been very rewarding to drive and extremely reliable.

Definitely a better choice than the Lexus RX we were also considering.
Who wants a car that just goes and doesn't surprise you with temperamental behaviour every now and then?

(Besides, we were asked to leave the dealer when she who drives the truck described the Lexus' handling as "like a marshmallow" to the salesman).

The only thing better than our X5 is my E39.

I'm pretty disappointed that that didn't make the list as well?

Would rank higher than the X, in my book...
