Charging Trailer Battery through X5
Hi, I have an 02 3.0i with the OEM trailer hitch and trailer module. My 6x12 enclosed trailer has a deep cycle battery that I want to keep charged while in tow, through the X5. I read that the 7-blade plug has a charging pin. Is this correct? Which pin is it?

It looks like on the Car end of the plug, it should be Pin 4, or a black wire.

I would test with a multimeter first though.

Please report back and let us know if BMW wired that pin to 12V.

Ok, just tested and Im getting 12v on two blades, with the engine on or off.
