Tinted cornerlights anyone?

So I tried searching to see if anyone had tinted their front cornerlights, but found nothing. I decided to go ahead and order some Lamin-X and get the job done. Definitely not as nice as clear corners, but it was cheap, quick, and easily reversible. If I wasn't so lazy I'd just heat up the headlights and do it the old fashioned way. Oh well, this works for now.

Looks better than the full out orange.

However, If I had the pre-face lift headlights, I would bake them open in a heart beat and dremel (or whatever method it was) those suckers out!

I considered tinting my corners as you did, but with the shape of the reflector in the 04' it just wouldn't work/look right from a lot of angles. When I saw the title of this thread I was really hoping it was for the face lift headlights so I could see how it would have turned out.

Kinda stands out. The gloss V/S the more dull finish of the headlights, and the contrast between that area and everything around it. I'd prefer it blend better if it were mine.

You like it though?

It looks nicely done!Maybe with a lighter smoked lamix!
Dont think the photos are doing it justice!Still looks better than the stock orange, but as O.L.T said it does stand out as all else at the front is light colour!
Maybe it would look better with the black grills

You're right the pictures do not do it justice. From 10ft away it looks awesome. But up close it is too dark and too shiny. I'm not sure if I'll keep it but definitely will try it out. I thought about a lighter color but to be honest it will still be too shiny and then the amber will show through as well.

Did you open up the headlight housing or just paint from the out side?

I have the oem 01-03 red/clear tails, they are my favorite.

The cornerlights are essentially wrapped with plastic, not painted and not opened.

I'm curious how noticeable it is to have clear tails and amber fronts by the way. My X is the same combo as yours basically - 4.4i non sport titanium exterior, so I have the amber fronts and rears. I'm about to do my tails because I've fixed the sockets so many times I have little to solder to to fix them again, so I'm switching to clears (LED variety though). I will eventually open up the front and clear them and do AEs, but that is time permitting so I'll be mismatched for a while. I'm wondering if anyone ever commented on yours or if it bugged you too much.

It is not strange at all, you should go ahead with the clear tails. Remember even sport models here in the U.S. have ambers up front, albeit they are smaller. It will look fine... in fact, better, than if you keep your amber tails.
