It makes a difference if you have the 4.6is or the 4.8is. The 4.6is has superchargers available which would put a smile on anyone's face.
Otherwise there are numerous available exhaust systems, intake systems and some software. Any BMW guy knows about DINAN, but that is $$$ for their programming. But with DINAN you know what you are getting... not many aftermarket programs are tried and tested to be what they are supposed to be, and I don't believe anyone but DINAN's software will touch the VANOS and valvetronic operation.

As Weasel notes above, the engine model matters. There is more you can do to a 4.6. Lots of cosmetic mods available, exhausts and cold air intakes can provide some minor gains. Dinan offer two software tunes for that engine, but don't claim any additional power with them.
LOL at the sprintbooster since it is a gas pedal mod. Gas pedals don't make cars perform better, engine mods do. Frequent debate here and elsewhere among those who believe it adds hp, and those who don't believe it does so. It does change the feel, certainly, and that is great for owners that prefer the new feel. Dinan sells aluminum pedal covers to go with it if you want to change the look of the gas pedal as well as the feel.

well.... the X5 is for the wifey, I am just going to do a few cosmetic mods, not really hook it up, probably take it to Active Auto see if they can tune it, I don;t know if carl can do it....but i'll make sure it looks better specially because it's for the wifey!! , Not to keen in highly modding it, but looking into a few things like CAI, Tune, Good tune up HIDs on High, lows and fogs, and to eliminate the DDL and fogs on with high beams, EAS has the module, I have it on my M3. Just minor convenience stuff like that..
![]() By the way, I know that the Sprint Booster all it does is give it a sharper and crisper Throttle response! I have it in My M3. As much as people criticize it, it does make a difference in responsiveness, and specially when i'm putting down more than 500WHP on the ///M. Last edited by lflaco; 03-16-2011 at 03:03 PM. |
