Towbar / towing hitch recommendation
I did a search and read a lot of threads on here about towing hitches, or towbars as we call them here in the U of K. My question is, which is the best detachable one to fit that allows you to replace the plastic oval cover in the bumper when not in use? I don't want anything that protrudes when not in use, I simply want to detach and seal up the hole. So far my research seems to point at the more expensive but better quality and fit Westfalia model with plug in electrics - but if anyone else has any suggestions I'd be hugely grateful. I'll be DIY fitting it. Thanks UF

Bmw fit Westfalia from new, I have a Witter on mine, both makes are detachable and the plastic cover can be fitted back on no problem.
I recommend that you fit the BMW specific wiring kit as opposed to a bypass relay though. I didn't at first but changed it so that the cars features worked correctly. It knows when a trailer is plugged in and activates trailer stability control and switches off the rear park sensors and fog light, also warns on the dash if you have a bulb out on the trailer. |
