Cylinders Done? New block? Or the absurd? Help!
Driving on highway, hit traffic, stalled. Ignition, bad sound from engine. No smoke (i dont think), no overheating, no spilling, no visible mess. Towed to shop. Took out disa, the flap was completely off. Thought it would do the trick. Car was absolutely dead though. New battery bought a year ago. but the DSC, seatbelt, battery, and e-brake light were flickering and flashing/fading away. New battery in, full power back. Ignition, really rough start/vibrating/shaking, and loud knocking/tapping/ticking noise from engine bay. I thought it sounded like it was from the headers, mech. said on top near valve cover.
They said #6 cylinder has no/bad compression. But they didn't think it was a good idea to run the codes cause "it wouldn't tell them whats going on". They wanted to get to the head, I said ill take it from there, since they're not BMW savvy. Throwing P0313 , P1353, P0313 pd, P1344 P0172 P0175. Too rich both banks, cylinder 6 and 3 misfire with fuel cutoff. My theory? A piece of the DISA valve got shot through manifold and now stuck either on top or in the cylinder.... leaving me to decide weather to go in through the manifold or cylinder head... Im lost This is what it sounds like after ignition. http://soundcloud.com/dixon_stephen/my-song-5-7# Last edited by Allstarsrd12; 04-05-2011 at 04:32 AM. |
