I think the Black makes a better statement. The Gunmetal just looks a bit off. Might look better on a silver, white, or gray X. Here is mine with Matt Black wheels.

I would just paint the grill and running boards to match. Not only will it look nicer than black (IMO), but it is also 10x more original.

Thanks to the others for the comments and photos. Interesting thoughts on a p-coated running board. I am less partial to the higher gloss with Imola in the images posted by Naz. The second example seems to fit my taste a touch better. I have done the grills already so everything is matte black vice rims and r-boards. Maybe I attempt to semi gloss these as-is. I do know I need change.
