Is it worth it to fix my leaking seals?

Here's the scoop: I have a leaking timing cover gasket and a leaking alternator bracket seal. They're not horrible, but it would be a shame to have two cars having a territory marking contest on my driveway. (the other car is a 200k mile range rover that's been leaking for 100k miles) So here's the question before I spend 20 hours replacing these buggers... what's the difference if I do or not? I mean, I really don't care at all if it leaks a drop or more a day. I really don't care about the bottom of the engine being covered in oil. All I really care about is that it doesn't get awful, spray everywhere, and destroy the engine or burn through alternators.

So what say ye?
