Help with clearing out headlights

So I have the headlight opened up, was able to remove the amber corners but cannot seperate the black frame holding in the waffle xenon and low lens covers from the back part of the housing. There doesn't look to be any screws holding the black frame to the back housing and I'm a little afraid to just yank hard to seperate in case the black frame isn't just clipped to the back housing of the headlight assembly.

Does anyone have experience with this? I'm trying to remove the waffle lens of my '01 X5. Thanks! AAAaargh!

We had the same problem. We called up a few people, and we still didn't have any luck. On one headlight, the lense on the Xenon came off very easily. But on the other, it was a pain in the ass. We had to aim the projector so we could just yank it out, it made it loose, but it still didn't work. The lense was actually stuck to the projector, so we cut it into pieces, then removed it. We didn't remove the High Beam lense though. Sorry if this was no help, .

Do you have close up pics of your headlights?

I have the exact same problem. I found out the hard way after yanking hard that there are screws holding the black plastic housing. I just finished baking one of the head lights but now need to buy super glue, now I'm left without a car to drive.

NONONO.......
you guys got it wrong
it is possible to get the waffles out WITHOUT taking the black trim piece...
you simply push in and the clips will fall out and grab those
and wiggle it out o_O

I tried to wiggle it out after pushing it in to make those clip fall out. There's barely any room to work with? How did you do it? Any tips or suggestions would be nice man!

So, how's it look without the amber corners? Is the lense assembly textured in any way or is it clear?
