I was just on another forum and this made it into the "fake it, to you make it thread". I came to your defense somewhat, but now that there's a fully equiped X5///M on the street, it might be time to change the plate and lose the badge.....just saying.....................Phil

technically if it is a 4.6is, the license plate isn't really that far off. the motor is a legit factory ///M product. however, i do think it's really lame and rather strokerish.

Ha! What a D-bag. The badge is one thing.... the plate is what kills it for me. Why would some one do this? Because they want to Impress people to gain there acceptance. Because they lack the self confidence to be who they are.

Is it? I thought the 4.6 was an M62, built in Munich, albeit with some Alpina design influence. The M engine that is most comparable is an S62, but is very different than the M62.
