Can anyone recommend brake pads/rotors for e53 3.0?

Have been restoring recently acquired x5 and next up i would like to swap brakes. i am some what of an impatient driver and i need my brakes to be spot on! i need good reliable brand with an excellent grip. so if anyone can point me into that direction i would be very happy.

I drive Pads EBC yellowstuff front and pads EBC redstuff backside since one year. No problems at all. But in general I believe that the truck is not the world class breaking machine. At least not if you slow down more then one time from high speed or if do mountain downhills which are longer.

Good luck.

Well....went through two sets of StopTechs with axxis deluxe ceramic pads...front rotors warped on both sets....moved to R1Concepts on a referral....best damn brakes i've had yet.....went with Akebono Euro pads....very nice. interestingly enough, the cost is inexpensive.

So from my limited understanding, the ceramic pads produce less dust but have slightly less bite?
