Remember, webasto will not turn on if outside temp is above 16 degrees celcius.
Hope this helps and good luck.
Cool I will give it another go. Thanks for the prompt reply.

i have a 2005 X5 3.0d, the car has the aux vent system, but the heating system was not ordered with it.

How can I enable the aux heating system?
What is required?, and what is the approximate costs?

OK I have the remote Aux heater fitted as a factory option , I've just tried it again (temp outside 5.5C) and nothing has happened. As per the manual I switch it on by holding the 'on' button for 2 seconds the green LED blinks indicating that the remote has made contact with the unit, 20-30mins later I get in the car and nada it's as cold as ever.
Am I missing something?

I have the Aux. Ventilation on mine and it works fine from the screen but I haven't got the remote facility but I will be contacting my BMW dealer tomorrow to see if it can be connected. Why don't you try setting it without the remote to see if it works first and then maybe refer to your manual to activate it with the remote??...

Ok, what I think is happening is that you're remote is set on "ventilation". This is the "summer" mode - does not engage under 16 degrees celcius. What you should do is go to the dealers to change mode, I hear this is a very simple task, although I've always left my remote on winter mode. I hope that solves you problem. Good luck

I've got a replacement remote, same as the first photo posted in this thread. How do I pair it with the car? I've been told it can be done by pulling a fuse, holding the on button and re-inserting the fuse. Trouble is I don't know which fuse, have tried the Independent heater fuse with no luck.

To pair the remote with the receiver:

Pull the c/b
wait 5 sec.
put the c/b back
within 5 sec. press the OFF button on the remote for 1 sec. minimum

The c/b is located in the trunk on the right-hand side in my 2004 3.0D
It shows as "Fernbedienung" which means remote and is c/b #86 5Amps

Thanks, found it and all paired ready for winter.

How do I know if the remote is T70 or T80? There is no model number inside the cover, just '0681'.
