2001 BMW X5 4:3 to 16:9 Navigation Widescreen

Hi all,
I get a 2001 BMW X5 3.0 and with 4:3 Navigation screen and would likes to replace with the 16:9 widescreen and also replace Navigation CD to DVD. The Navigation CD for 2011 come with 10 cds and cost over $200. If I travel to different state I need to changes the cd and sometime is difficult especially during nite. Any suggestions or how much to replace it. I might buy a portable gps for under $200.

Thanks,
Henry

Converting the screen and nav drive are straightforward, but not usually a cheap way to go. See http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all...-retrofit.html for the how-to on a screen replacement and the nav drive is a plug-n-play swap from the Mk3 (CD-based) to the Mk4 (DVD based).
