Transmission issue?

Hi Folks,
I've got a 2004 X5 4.4 with 75,000 miles. I've noticed recently that when the vehicle is cold I no longer get a nice smooth shift from 1st to 2nd gear. All other shift changes are fine. The issue seems to go away when the vehicle has warmed up. Is this first sign of trany problems...would a change of transmission fluid help? Would anyone have any advise in this department.

You say "no longer" as if this is a new symptom. My 06 4.4 has been doing it for 160,000 miles I have owned it. Had 60k on it when I got it. I have changed the fluid twice no difference. Not recommended by most. Good luck.
