Chassis/Car Vibration after brake job and hand brake adjustment

Note: I have thoroughly read about vibration issues on this forum and others.

Car Gurus, I have recently installed a new set of Textar brake pads on the front and rear axles.(Both front and rear rotors showed very little, almost negligible wear) I bedded them in, then returned home and decided to remove the rear wheels and adjust left and right hand brake mechanisms. Now, I drove the car a few miles and noticed at 100-110 km/h thereabout, the entire vehicle vibrates! I can even see the passenger seat shaking! When I came outside to check over my wheel nuts, the rear axle was smelling like burnt brakes. (Obviously I adjusted it too tight so I re-did the hand brake properly but the problem still exists). The car brakes well and does not pull to any side, nor have I experienced pedal pulsing under light or heavy use. Problem is now 200 kilometers old, and the vibration smooths out at approximately 140 km/h

Is it possible that I messed up my rear rotors? ...I'm fully aware that I was supposed to change them. Or is it a stuck caliper piston? I've read about brake deposits being a culprit, but I'm not keen on that one either. I did use the diff to raise the car to put it on stands

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Also, I balanced and rotated tyres/tires twice..at different people and the problem was unchanged. There is no sign of rim/wheel damage, bending, etc.

Rotors wouldn't cause the vibration. Did you have the tires checked for run out? typically that is problem if your wheels are not damaged. The wheels may have run out on them at the hub, it only takes a few hundreths of an inch to cause this. Might wanna check your bushings and run out on your drive line it may not be balanced right or straight anymore. Also might wanna check end play on the drive line and axles.

The shop said that the first thing they checked for was run out at the wheel's hub and there was none.

Anyone knows if the rear subframe bushings can cause this vibration ?

I have no slackness on either axle when I tug on the wheels when in the air. I really doubt the rear hubs, will have run out as I didn't hit anything. BUT I will have a shop check it still as I do not own a dial gauge. Doesn't anyone think it weird that only after I fiddled with the hand brake that the problem arose?

Update. I have swapped back in the 17" factory bmw wheels and there is no vibration or shimmy at any speed. Toss out the 20 inch rims ? Thank you for posting 645i!
