if your mirrors have a blueish tint, then they are not electrochromatic. Since you have an 06, if you have power folding mirrors, or a light in the mirror housing, you have electrochromatic mirrors.

also, you cannot replace with electrochromatic mirrors on vehicles without it from factory; you need a different mirror housing (unless you want to make and run your own wires).

It's not going to tell you. It's going to show you all options available. Call the parts department at your local dealer with the last 7 of your vin and they might be able to tell you. When you do call, act like you want to buy it but don't know which one your X came with.

Its definitely has a blueish tint. If you mean "power folding" as in folding the entire mirror towards the car, then no I dont have that or the light.

I have power mirrors though that adjusts the angle of the mirror, it just doesnt "fold"

This thread has a lot of information for when you're not sure of the options on your X: http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...e53-years.html

The only choices for the right side mirror is a convex mirror with the text on it. Mine does not have the text on it and I dont believe it has a curved, convex, glass shape. Its flat... #3 is the right side mirror according to realoem.com

Here are two options for you:

1. If you have autodim: OEM BMW X5 E53 (1999-2005) RH GLASS MIRROR, AUTO DIM | eBay

2. If you have heated only: 00-06 BMW X5 Series E53 Heated Right Mirror Glass | eBay

Actually I lied, it does say "objects in mirror are closer than they appear."

I cant find any mirrors to buy that are identical.

Nik: I dont have a compass on my RVM. But for some reason I feel that there is auto-dimming on the RVM.

I checked the side view mirrors and I only see 2 wires connected to it, so I assume its only heated

If the RVM has a dot in the middle then its auto-dimmed. I'm asking If mine is not auto dimmed and does NOT have a compass... If I add one with compas and auto dimm, Will compass and dim work?
