Most folks either change their own oil or have an indy do it. As for the tailgate...I bet the key remote is causing it to unlatch. Try not to touch the push buttons when turning off the engine and see if it happens?
Good Luck!

I had a similar problem with the tailgate unlatching when I came to a halt. It turned out to be one of the two microswitches in the tailgate handle had self destructed .
You could if necessary remove the tailgate handle - 4 Torx screws and unplug the wiring connector and see if the fault still occurs - the latch still works off the key button. A new handle was approx £170 from the stealer so I decided to see if I could repair it myself. I cut the plastic rear surround off with a mini drill , removed the circuit board , replaced the two microswitches ( £1.20 each ) and bonded it back together with epoxy resin . It has been working fine for 8 months now . Last edited by TerryJenk; 05-20-2011 at 03:06 AM. |
