Lowering my truck in the morning!

So today my rear end links arrived. So very excited. I have gone through alot of post and realized that I might need spacers for the rear can some explain to me why i would need them. And as for the front I'm going to just cut a coil or coil and a half even though everyone thinks its ghetto rigged lol I am saving up for a full suspension do over so ill be fine for now. Is there anything I should know before I do this or buy before hand? Aside from the spacers? And how hard is it to put the rear end links looks easy as its a small piece put together stuff lol here are some pics of the links I got and a pic of truck from the side. I think the 20s really put her up there and I don't like the gap. So what u guys think?
Also going to remove the roof rails hopefully tommarow or this weekend as well so she should be a looker I think. And then wheels are going to be painted auto black. And suggestions ... and thanks

I'll be lowering mine as soon as I get my AC Schnitzer wheels, where did you get the links? Please no more black wheels, you have a nice color truck, anything but black wheels.

Every single person who cuts there springs, regrets it. It will ride, and handle worse then you think it will. The better cheep way to lower it is to leave everything assembled in place. Use a torch and at the lowest point possible on the spring, get a spot cherry red with heat. The weight of the X5 will flex that section of the spring flat, resulting in lowering your X.

And to keep it a little more controlled put a jack under it at what distance you wanna lower it. Heat up one spot of the spring until the X drops and has it's weight on the jack, and repete on the other side.

Now what I said above is completely getto and your spring WILL BREAK just after that spot you got hot with the torch..... but it will take a few months for it to break tho.

No way am I doing that and I changed my mind about cutting the coils I was just being impatient because I did not want to wait for shipping. I'm new to Modding my car so I don't know stores you can go in to buy stuff and I hate wait for something to come in mail. But I'm going to do it proper and order the springs its not worth it to ruin truck to save a day or two of waiting and a hundred bucks.

There is a sensor lowering link. It works the exact way the rear does. It's just a diffrent leant rod to trick it as to the position of the control arms.

And for what it's worth. Black wheels rock! Chrome, is waaaaay over rated. IMO.

Glad to hear you're not going to cut the coils, that's really not smart. One thing you will also need to do is replace the factory/OEM shocks, they can't handle the stress from a lowering job and will wear out quite fast. I've lowered about 6 vehicles over the past 10 years and the factory shocks failed on all of them eventually, so start shopping for aftermarket shocks and struts.
