Angry A/C and heater problem

Hi everyone
I am a new member of xoutpost.com. I really like it. I wish I found out about this site earlier to save me time and headache. I have a problem that need your expertise. My A/C and heater fan (front) sometimes works and sometimes not. I can set the temperature up and down but the fan does not blow air out. I have no control over this thing. I know I have climate control system (IHKA 39). I saw an article, replace final stage control, posted a similar problem to the one I have. I don't know what is final stage control. I thought the blower maybe out, but after reading the article I suspected this maybe the one that I need to replace. Please let me know is there a blower for me to replace or do I need to replace the final stage control on my X5. The rear fan has a separated blower. Thanks for your help.

are you still under warranty? if so, this would be something you should give to your dealership. welcome to xoutpost.com though, I'm new too. hopefully you can get your problem solved.

again, if under warranty, you paid so much for your BMW partially because of the dealership services, try to utilize them whenever possible goodluck

Sounds like you need to replace the final stage resistor. Please refer to this link for install instructions >> http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...ticle&artid=96

Good luck,

I got the same problem with my X5... was pressing MAX and the fan was not moving an inch.
Replaced the final stage resistor and the problem was solved.
