Bluetooth module in my 2004 3.0 x5

Hi all,

Recently purchased a 2004 x5 with a manual transmission. Love the car, but I can't figure out the bluetooth calling. I've read a bunch on this forum and I understand that most 04's did not come with bluetooth. I did open up the tech section in the trunk and I did find the bluetooth antenna and the motorola bluetooth module. Can someone take a look and tell me where I stand? Should I have bluetooth calling? If so, what do I need to do to get this working? Just replace the module? I dont have a bluetooth button in the center console, but I do have the telephone buttons on the stereo (no nav) and the voice guy on the steering wheel. The assist and SOS buttons are on the ceiling as well.

I've attached a pic of the module (attachment and link)

you have a blue tooth in the car . you got the same model as mine .
you need to sync your phone with the car and this is how you do it : take your phone and go to option where you can add a Bluetooth device .put the key in the car and turn it to position 3. dont start the car . after you get your phone to search for new Bluetooth device . your phone should find the BMW blue tooth . then put the password . from your picture your password is :8395. the time between when you turn the key to position 3 and your phone searching for a blue tooth device should not be more then 30 second . after you will all your contact loaded to your BMW screen .

you may be right . all i know that it took me 3 hours to pair mine. The dash board will say activate phone but my phone was not able to discover the bmw blue tooth . but i got it done finally.
but after that ,soon as i turn the key on , it is automatically paired .

turn you key into position 3 while your phone is on the mode of searching for a blue tooth device . you phone should find the bmw blue tooth . you will be asked for the passkey which came with manual of the truck .after that your phone is paired with the truck and you dont need to repeat this procedure no more . it will be automatically each time you get in the track . good luck

does your dash board says (ACTIVATE PHONE) when you you put the key in position 3 ?
i got mine to work after i tried many times ...you just have to get the phone to search for blue tooth and meanwhile turn the key into positions 2 or 3
