The problem with the '04 - '06 is that it doesn't have 2 filaments like the pre-facelift model. There is no 2nd filament to make the blinker function brighter. The blinker will only turn the bulb on and off (not brighter), even when the parking lights are on. If you paint the bulb to hide the light output for the parking light, you will also take out the blinker as well. That is why it is so difficult on a facelift model, which I don't think can be accomplish without a reprogram.

I can delete parking lamps on facelifted e53 for people in the Chicago area for a fee. Retaining full turn signal function. No error messages, just recoding.

I have the parking lamps disabled and the signals still work on a 2003 X5 with dual filiment bulbs.

The problem is I don't know why it is this way and came across this thread trying to find a way to get them to work again. I didn't realize this was a desired feature and not a problem .

Now I'm thinking I should leave it alone and consider the problem an upgrade

Did anyone come up w/ a solution? I too want this feature since i just put in MTEC V2.1 Angel Eyes and, 5k D2S Bulbs and 5k HID FOGS. The parking light is really bright and it bugs me.....I was thinking about putting a chrome coated amber bulb and smoking out the corner light w/ 3M film....what do u guy think?

I use led turn signals. They look awesome, but they blink too fast, because of the low resistance. They have a xenon white color.

I'll try the led turn signals and see how they turn out. I also will try the chrome/amber bulbs and smoke out the corner of the headlight to dim the light down with 3M film. I will post pictures of both when completed.
