Auto Adaptive Xenons

Hi all,

My car was involved in an accident which meant one of the headlights had to be replaced. However, ive noticed that when the light switch is set to the auto mode the little green light continuously flashes whereas before it would light up solid. Any ideas why this is please?

Ive also noticed that the light that was changed has a slight yellow in the main headlight as well as the angel eye. Not sure if someone upgraded the headlight bulb for a more whiter one but its noticeably different. I changed the angel eye bulbs for the whiter ones but not the main headlight bulb. Can someone tell me which bulb would have been used for the brighter white one?

Thanks in advance

They are definately HID as when i used to turn the light to AUTO mode it did a leveling check (it moved down and back to the normal operating position) at startup. However, after the repair it doesnt seem to do this anymore. Again would appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction as to why this doesnt seem to work. I will be going back to the repair centre...

There's a problem with the adaptive headlight and auto-leveling unit that resulted from the collision. Sometimes there's damage beyond just the headlight. I would recommend taking the vehicle to a dealership or a service facility that has the proper electronic diagnostics.

I also followed the procedure to reset the steering angle sensor which was to switch engine on and turn steering wheel lock to lock but this didnt make any difference

I know alot of the suspension parts were changed on the nearside which i beleive is where the auto leveling unit is located?

Guess it will need to go back to the repair centre

Based on my experience, the headlights seem to be purposely readjusted "low" by the dealer or indy. You can do adjust yourself, but aware that a minor adjustment on a wall, will end up being a major difference on the road, so please adjust with this in mind, else you will get a lot of high-beam flashes from on-coming traffic as HIDs misaligned high can be blinding . . . . cheers.

Thanks for this. However, before the headlight was replaced when the lights were switched on they would level themselves. I dont see this happening anymore and like i mentioned earlier the green light is flashing when i turn it to 'auto'

There's a good chance you front sensor is whack if you had suspension replaced in front. I just had mine fixed. The bracket was bent in the front and was causing the lights to point at the ground (sensor was misaligned because of the bent bracket). The dealer can read what part of the system has failed.

The lights appear to be pointing correctly, however the adpative feature doesnt work and the green light flashes when turned to 'auto' It will be going back to the garage that repaired the vehicle to get the electrician to check things out. It might need to go to the dealer if they cant pin point the issue but i do have a gut feeling thats its the sensor on the nearside as thats the side i had alot of suspension parts changed
