I know this is an old thread but i guess a lot of these are getting old now ; )

anyway, I've got the floppy ears too now and need to replace. Sounds like the full kit is the way to go...like Overboost did.

am I seeing this correctly though? there are two kits available at 1aauto and it appears that the only difference is the puddle light and ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! my puddle lights are so dim I have never noticed i have them. I'd happily save the $100. just want to get a second set of eyes (and ears) if you guys don't mind checking.

$369 - no puddle light

$469 - add puddle light

I think the wiring harnesses and/or plugs might be different, but not sure, and don't know if you could work around it, though it seems like you could if you're confident with re-wiring. And FWIW I love my puddle lights.

I just got the most expensive options from 1A site, they had everything but the heat. These aftermarket mirrors are top quality and you can easily re-use your old colour-matched covers they snap in.

My kit from 1AAuto had everything but the auto dimming feature. My X came with basic heated mirror manual folding so the auto folding and puddle lights in the new power folding mirror kit was a bonus. All the wiring and connectors were factory plug and play and mine do have the heated feature. My only bitch is 2 years later the paint on the base on the left mirror has faded and will need a respray in the coming year. Functionally, they are still perfect.

If you go with puddle lamps and yours did not have this option, you will need to enable the setting in NCS Expert. Let me know if you need help.

@Russianblue, this is a rare week while I in town all this week with no race this weekend. We should get together and you can see my 1AAuto kit up close and in person. PM'd you my phone number.

Yes sir. I bought a used one off fleaBay for $60 with the mirror fold button. No ZCS FA coding was necessary, they just worked.

Anybody wanting to sell cheaply or donate their old mirror motor /gear assemblies? I'm going to try working on a fix some day.

For anyone who may be thinking about going the 1a Auto mirror route that has factory EC mirrors, you can still use the EC glass, but it isn't a direct swap.

My initial plan was to overlay the two EC wires to the 1A harness, but the 1A mirrors use a different backing plate so the factory mirror glass won't fit. The fold motor 1A uses has the same bolt pattern on the mirror head side, but the bolt pattern is smaller on the door bracket. Because of this, you need to use the factory mirror head to retain EC and the 1A door bracket.

The 1A mirror fold motor and limit switch need to be depinned and moved to the OE mirror head. The 4 wires need to be connected to the factory plug (direct fit from 1A harness), and then the OE head bolted to the 1A base. Everything works fine and you still have OE mirror glass that is easier to replace if it ever breaks.
