oil/grease appears on alloys and in wheel arches

I second the notion that both axles/CV joints/boots get replaced. Price for both with reman BMW parts at Merchants Tire is $600.

Going to take it to an indy tomorrow, i think its a good idea to get all 4 on the front done. seems like its a common problem with x5's. would do it myself, but haven't got the right tools or the patience haha.

ive gotten axle assembly from online autoparts store for $80

WTF 375$? I would go crazy with those prices. It will cost me to replace my cracked boot 50$ with the boot and labor. but yes, that can make axel go bad if it dries out.
