LED Footwells

ive searched xoutpost, bimmerforums and bimmerfest and noticed that no one has done LED footwells.guess its more of a japanese car driver thing.Anywayz hopefully i was able to say i was the first to do it in an X5 or be one of the few that already have. I have already put it the order for the kit from this site.
LED Interior Lighting Kit - Starter
I choose the 2pc red ones for a few reasons.1 its my first time doing this so i didn't want to spend money on a 4pc.2.i choose red to match the dash lights at night.3.i couldn't think of a good place to mount the rear ones and i didn't wan't people kicking them around in the back. if anyone asks ill do a photo buy photo DIY on it.like i said i have zero experience doing this but i am determined to get it done.hopefully everything works out well.

I have cool white led's in my footwells as well as the rest of the interior. Looks great and there is plenty of light.

done.i have to admit the wiring it 100% ricey.i installed it such that i would be able to remove everything easily.once i get some info on how to remove the interior trim pieces, ill be able to make it look much more professional.was thinking about mounting the switch in the ashtray.ive noticed people have done that when they install alpines. ill see if i can ask around

why not just buy these? you can order them in orange/red.

Super Bright LEDs ? Festoon Light Bulbs

The kit i ordered came with led strips that had an independent switch so i could turn em on and keep them on unlike the led bulbs but the footwells will only go on either when i open the doors or via master control light switch.im keeping the incadesent light bulbs.i think it matches with the dashlights and gives useful lighting rather then seeing orange or red everywhere

thinking about hiding that mess of wires under the panel they're sitting on and just run the switch and connector to sit on that panel on the upper left side.
