It should give you the message when you pull the front fuse. I am wondering if somebody trying to be clever removed the fuses in the back and disabled the system in the software? It seems very strange to me that both the fuses in the back had been removed...... Check with a DVM if there is 12 volts going to the pump in the white connector. If there is no power then the pump is not working. In any case remove the four 6mm bolts (10mm wrench) and have a look inside the pumpkin to see if the pump is there and what state it is in.

I'll check the pumpkin today in the evening. But just as an update, it was fine until yesterday night. No drop, not even a single inch, for more than 24 hours. But this morning (in less than 7 hours), I saw it again dropped and its tires were literally touching the fenders. As soon as i unlocked, it came back up as if it was sleeping and after unlocking it woke up.... It is so intermittent......

Look at page 96 of your owner's manual:
"When the vehicle is stationary, the system executes ride-height changes in both directions - up and down - when-ever the doors are closed. The tailgate/liftgate may be open. The system reaises the vehicle only when the engine is running." Thats where the "doors closed" came from. Someone described their system as not working and only the green light flashing...this is what occurs when you attempt to raise adjust the ride height. I did the same thing and thought it was broke till I read the book...closed the door and it worked as advertised.

So, you are saying that usually in an OFF and LOCKED position, it could be sitting in a down position - as down as that tires are touching fenders? It sounds strange to me. I'll confirm with others....
But the switch is not working anyways either.... Even with the doors closed or open, engine running or shutdown, vehicle in motion or not - it just blinks and does nothing. Maybe the sensor is blown for the switch.... Quote:

No, the ride height should stay the same from when you turn it off you adjust it again, or you surpass 20MPH or whatever and it resets itself to the "driving" mode.
Even on its lowest (access) setting the tires should not be touching the fenders.

Thanks for clearing the confusion... So, I do have a problem as it sometimes comes down even in an OFF and locked mode. Sometimes it won't, not even after more 24 hours... And yes, the switch doesn't work at all.... It simply blinks....

My problem is that my Driver's rear is constantly and 100% consistently about 1/2" lower than the passenger rear. I'm not sure if the Passenger is riding a tiny bit high or the Driver's is low, but no matter what setting I'm on (low, middle, high) there's that difference in the rear. Fronts are always even and good to go.
Hope you get it figured out without dipping too deeply into your retirement!

It does sound to me as if you have a leaking bag or bags. Mine did that way for a couple of months. Fine for a few days, then you find the fender sitting down on the tire. Even blew the 30A fuse once, I believe now b/c the system was working so hard trying to keep the inflation going. Situation progressed to where the height was ok if you drove it daily, but if it sat a day or two it would leak down flat, until you cranked it up. Finally, after it sat there a week while we were gone on a cruise, it sat all the way down and didn't come back up. At that point, you could hear the air hissing out of the bag while compressor was running. The bags seem to leak worse when they are flat, b/c the rubber folds up. Once they inflate and straighten out, I think the small leaks mostly close up. But as they continue to deteriorate, they can't seal even then. Got a new pair of bags off of eBay and installed this week -- now all seems fine.
It does sound like you have some kind of switch issue, though. Can't tell you about that since my model only has the rear bags and no switch control. Maybe you have both problems. I do believe removing fuses and running on no air will tear up a bag -- especially older, less resilient ones. Best wishes. |

Me again. It occurred to me if you have a shorted switch or control system, it might deflate your bag/drop your height. To rule that out, I wonder if you could just disable the electrical system (disconnect battery post) overnight and see if the height drops? If so, it seems you must have a leak. I know you've had the fuses out, but maybe not all the ones that control this(?). Killing the battery should take care of all of it.
I may be out in left field, but maybe something here will inspire you in the right direction! BTW, I found my bags for $199 for the pair, free shipping, lifetime warranty. Installed myself, but I read elsewhere labor runs around $50 per bag for a shop. |
