CV boot help

Anyone in the San Diego area done this? Not sure if I want to do it or take it to the indy. I do a lot of my own maintenance but don't know if I should tackle this one in my garage with my short supply of tools.

The inner one is actually easy compared to the outer boot, do search for the DIY thread.

It's not for the faint of heart, especially if you have limited tools in your box. If the boot is ripped, most likely, the joint is bad or on its way out. Replace the entire half-shaft axle on that side just to be sure. Find a trusted independent mechanic who charges about $85/hour and you'll save a TON of money. Let us know how things work out!

Where is your mechanic?

I actually found the left side front on Amazon! EMPI for only $77 shipped. I'm replacing mine soon. I will borrow/rent the special toold to pull the suspension components appart and the one to pull out the axle. From there I will pay someone to re-align the darn thing again (second time in 6 months)
