10,7 l/100km - I have that when I park mine and do not drive it
To be honest: who buys an X5 E53 because he/she wants to save fuel?

Posting my link again: ‪BMW X5 E53 and 10 minutes of fun‬‏ - YouTube

And be warned. This has nothing to do with fuel saving ..... but with a lot of fun - and the reason why I am driving that thing.

I am bugged that there are cars, such as the E46, that can get 25+ MPG while still going 80 MPH on the highways. I struggle trying to do the same speed getting 22 MPG. Plus, I don't find the X5 that engaging of a drive. I'm sure it drives better than most SUVs, but it still doesn't compare to a car. I recently drove a '92 Volvo 940GL and thought that was a very peppy car to drive and more fun that the X5 I drive.

Now that is impressive! I was doing ~112 km/hour average and only got a 22 MPG average.

Well, of course. The same engine can't push ~1,000lbs more, AWD, and a higher drag as efficiently as it can a rear drive E46. My wife has driven an E46 since our PDC in '02. They're completely different cars that have zero business being compared- especially WRT gas mileage.

A 4cyl Honda gets better highway mileage than my 1975 2002. As I read on another forum: "In other news, water is wet."

Mine is always changing, reflexed in my sig. I have given up on trying to drive better to save fuel. Driving fun has much better return than saving $6 a tank.

But just for funs, here's what my mileage typically looks like when I've only been rolling back and forth to work with no hurry up or side trips.
