I also have 19" wheels and finding a good, reasonably price tire is a challenge. It is actually easier to find a 20" than 19" which has become a bit of an odd size these days. take a look at the Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico. They are pretty reasonable and have been great for me. The rear inner tire wear symptomatic of the negative camber in the rear end of X5s has been much less than when I had Toyos Proxes and Yokohama Advans.

I had people tell me Energy MXV4 were not available for mine either but I called these folks Rouse Tire Service Inc : Home and they not only did they have them in stock but let me know that were still being made contrary to what I had heard. Give them a call and see what's available. Not telling you what to buy, that will be your choice but maybe they might have what others are saying are unavailable.
Edit BTW I had the Latitude Tour HP all season tires. and went back to the Energy MXV4''s. My success or lack thereof may be due to the fact that i'm running stock 18's.

The Latitude Tour HP
I, too, reside in Southern California. I went through the same decision making process a couple of months ago. I replaced my Michelin 4x4 Diamaris with the Latitude Tour HP all season tires. I really liked the performance of the Diamaris, but needed a tire that would work for my handful of winter trips to Mammoth. So far, I am very pleased with the comfort, even at the expense of some performance. I will see how they do in light snow this ski season.

OP, I have the same size tires as you on my 02 4.4 sport package. I switched from the Toyo Proxes S/T's to Pirelli Scorpion Asimmetricos a while back. The Toyo's were fantastic with noise being the only exception. They lasted approx 40,000 miles. So far, I have been very happy with the Pirelli's. They are very quiet and feel about the same as the Toyo's. I have about 17,000 miles on them so far and there was decent amount of tread left last time I checked. I would recommend the Scorpions if you are looking for an all-season tire. I would also suggest looking into the Hankook Ventus AS RH07's. The are also all-seasons, seem to be reasonably priced and have decent ratings on TireRack's website. I didn't know what to think about Hankook until I bought my e46 M3. It came with Hankook Ventus V12's and they are amazing. Very good tire for the money.
I think Michelin makes good tires, but they are overpriced, imo. Also, the Michelins in our sizes are not quite as good as the rest of the Michelin lineup. I have seen way more people complaining about them than praising them. Good luck! Oh, I have also heard great things about the performance of the Vred's, but if you are concerned with how long the tires last, they are probably not going to be your best bet. It seems that the X5's eat those for lunch.

I find it interesting that people who drive the same vehicle have such differing opinions about the same tire. As a result I'm beginning to think that tires are a personal preference based up what a driver desires in handling and various other factors. So my suggestions regarding what tires I have are suggestions only.
Seems to me that Unless one has experienced a specific tire on several vehicles it seems to me that taking someone else's word regarding their experiences with tires is subjective at best.

The Pirelli asimetrico's were discontinued a few months ago. I don't believe the MXV4's are made in our size. There are basically three offerings for all season tires on the staggered setup. Michelin latitudes, Kumho Ecsta STX KL12 or Hancook Ventus AS RH07. Has anyone tried the Hancook's?
