I need help with my Running boards..Overcleaned???

Hi,

I have polished my running boards today with turtle alluminium polish, and they have come up a treat! BUT, i have a patch at the front of the boards which i cant get rid of, could i have overcleaned them, and gone through the brushed alluminium??

Is there anything anyone can suggest? I have enclosed a pic.

Thanks,
Roy.

Yes,you have gone through the top coat and down to the "raw" aluminium.
Suggestions?
1.Try to find a spray that will match the brushed aluminium ,which would be a matt silver.
2.Try to find some vynil to match the brushed aluminium look or just get some black vynil and do a small simple design on both sides of the ARBs.
3.This would look fantastic but its a hell of a job!You could give your ARBs the polished chrome look all round..

You think he really managed to get throug the Eloxal surface of the boards? Then he had a lot of work over hours. But not sure :-)

I understand what you are saying! That top coat is hard and even difficult to remove with a wet/dry sandpaper,so how did he manage to go down to the "raw aluminium"?...Must have been the solvent in the polish he used ,rather than the actual rubbing of the top coat.
