X5 won't start

don't think it's the battery, but then again what do I know. The engine is not ticking over and I'm getting a clicking sound when attemting to crank the engine(full turn on ignition key)...starter gone?

If lights play with that clicking sound, then it's battery!

My 2004 x5 did the same thing. It clicked when turning the key and lights were coming on and off (It was in garage). I thought it was starter but had it checked at auto zone and it was bad battery. Got new battery at Sam's club for like $78

there is a way of checking voltage with MID computer. cant recall how exactly but it intales unlocking your mid by interning sum of the i think last 4 of the vin number and then there are certain paramenter i think #8 that will tell you your voltage. search forum about unlocking the mid and all the info will be available.
