alpine white x5 w/black door handles?

Im looking at purchasing a 2001 alpine white x5 3.0i and it has all the pkg's (except sport) and I cant decide if the black door handles are ugly or not. Can you get them painted the same color? And I would love some pictures of alpine white 3.0i x5's

Seems like a very small detail to worry about, if the rest of the vehicle is good. Looking at the photo, there is lots of black, so the door handles don't stand out IMO. I honestly didn't know what colour my X5 door handles were (I owned it for over four years), so I just went and looked up an old photo.

Lots of photos in this thread:

Mine has black door handles, yes no problem getting them painted, but as JCL has said there is so much black on the X they don't look out of place but given the option I would have prefered mine painted, just couldn't be bothered doing it. An "is" kit would look good though

Get rid of the amber lights and factory tint match the front windows and it will look alot better.

I actually went the other way and replaced the color-coded handles with the black handles!

You can see more details from my thread here.

There is the most immaculate white E53 that lives in my area (sport pack w/ style 87's)

I must say I am a massive fan of that car and it has black handles.

Most companies will have black handles and/or mirrors on the entry level trims and painted ones on the upper trim levels. I am a fan of body colored handles and mirrors, mine just so happens to be black :-)

Have you painted yours? Is there a write-up on this? I want to do this but am worried about it chipping or wearing off.

I haven't painted mine as my post says ( couldn't be bothered doing it ) just take it to a paint shop and have it done professionally, peoples rings are the worst thing for painted handles. It's funny that if you don't have something you want it because it's different to what you have, we're a funny lot.
