Hi All,
So the other day i noticed my right turn signals going pulsating at a faster rate than they normally do. It only lasted for 2 days then it went back to its normal slower rate. I liked it when the turn signals pulsated at the faster rate. Is this a setting I can change or was this a fluke kind of thing? Thanks all! |

They will go faster when a bulb is out. Its an indicator that it's time to change the bulbs. Your bulb must've gotten loose and caused this.
I personally think it's annoying, but if you do want this to last forever, you could buy cheap bulbs that shoot an error code to the cars computer and force this.. Not worth it IMO

They do that when one of them is out, so if I had to guess you are getting a resistance problem somewhere. The only way I can think of to get it to blink fast like that all the time would be to put in LED bulbs without error cancelers, but you'd have the light out error display on the dash due to it.

btw sry for the subject change. i actually got this as one of my first random problems that i never knew why until someone told me my signal light was out. Anyways how come bmw never coded it into the system telling you to check signal bulbs? when low beam is out they have a message for that yet they don't have one for signal hmmm dunno.. iv noticed other cars doing the same thing when one bulb is out too so i guess its just an old original way to signal a bulb is out

Imo, it is a sign of corrosion in the bulb socket, or the relay, both of which are common...sometimes, a new bulb will give you time. Both bulb change/socket cleaning, and a relay R&R are a slight PIA due to 'room' to work.
There is a DIY here in How Tos, Online Refs, or... Fwiw, I changed a bulb, cleaned socket and got another few months out of it. Then, back to fast blink. Had the Indy change out the relay when I was getting other stuff done. Not hard, but I watched, .GL, mD
