I agree.

I'm curious too - I'm not even looking to change out my std nav but still would be good to know the option was there if I ever wanted to.

I agree, I never bid on reserve set auctions, defeats the purpose and takes the fun out of it.

the amount of times i have seen a regular auction with a final price well over that of the reserve set by a diffrent buyer for the same item that wasn't even met.

Aftermarket GPS

The unit shown on the oemcargps site is the Hualingen. Hualingen quoted me $410, with an SD card and without TV, plus $90 shipping to South Carolina. Not sure why I'd pay $688 plus shipping unless I believed the service after the sale was way better. No evidence of that, so I'm not buying yet. I'd much rather deal with a domestic vendor who would back the product.

I like this one and will get it very soon. It's from a domestic distributor with after-sale support.

Dynavin E39 Info, New Model "V6" - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum

Will get one for my wife X5 first since it only has the OEM 4:3 Nav. If everything works out fine, I'll get one for my E39 later.
