Is this a new Navigation and Entertainment system?

Blue blobs have started to appear on my OEM Dash Nav Screen so it's time to get in a replacement.

I researched both the Dynavin vs Hualingan some time back and wasn't convinced as it removes some of the standard functions and bluetooth appears a bit wonky on the new systems, but recently I came across this:

GPS BMW E39 E53 X5 E38 Navigation CAR DVD Navi 5er 7er | eBay

It could just be an update, but was wondering if anyone had any further info on it, or any suggestions for the best replacement currently available, mine won't last much longer by the look of it and I won't get much for it with a busted screen.

UPDATE: Found there website - http://en.auvidio.com/index.php?id=1 (looks like these guys are still in the setup process) these guys might actually mean business and not be a cheap cloning factory, they are looking for technicians worldwide to fit their systems.

Do this and your screen will look like new. I just did mine an hour ago.

New nav screen

There are many reasons to like the one on ebay, but why is the screen and DVD slot not centered (vertically) to be more aesthetically pleasing???

Would be nice to have a full tutorial on how to do this, including part Numbers, suppliers etc. (It's a good idea though), I would be worried about Getting the right part Number as that could be an expensive error, The price of the replacement LCD/LED, seems high to me, I change these often on phones and laptops for some extra cash and the prices quoted in the thread supplied seem very high in comparison (All things BMW I guess).

Nevertheless It's an option I will consider and thanks for the info.

I agree, it does look a bit wonky

I do wonder about these guys though I thought someone here might know something about them but reviewing their website it appears obvious these guys are new to the game.

They set themselves out professionally though, and I guess a few e-bayers are looking to earn a quick buck by requesting to be distributors, I guess it's a wait and see, I will be more interested in receiving information from the worldwide garages they choose to fit these devices (If I owned a Garage I would apply on their site, if only to see the device in action).

I wouldn't buy one of those from ebay without playing with one in real life first. When I bought my car it had a Dynavin fitted, two weeks later I took it out and put an OEM 4:3 unit back in. The Dynavin was absolutely riddled with bugs and was driving me crazy.

Maybe this one is better. Maybe it's not. There's no way I'd gamble $500 just to find out.

100%

The Dynavin & Hualingan are too buggy in certain areas for my liking. Whats worse is that some people have bugs others don't without knowing why. For me the loss of the OBC control in the X5 is the nail in the coffin, at least on a 3 series you control it with the stalk.

Personally, I think these units try to be all things to all men, and do not succeed 100% with it all. It would be better if they made a simpler version which promised less but delivered 100% for a lower price.

Anyway, back OT, what is clear is that this unit is not 100% new, but the seller does claim that parts are up to date as opposed to his competitors which he says could be old. IDK how true that is though

If it was any better than what was already on the market, they would be selling faster than they could make them and the company would be huge. Like you said, we've heard it all before - time will tell

To be honest I think most people have read the horror stories and been totally put off the idea, even if there was a perfect solution out there we would all probably throw stones at them

I have not seen any bad or good reviews of this device so I'm just curious what these new kids have up their sleeves.
