Iphone4 & OBD11 - dashcommand

Can anyone please help me out here before I spend any more of my hard earnt $$$,

I am interested in getting into the error codes, performance data etc so after some research I have done the following -:
Purchased the ELM 327 bluetooth unit
Purchased the "Dashcommand" App from Itunes onto my Iphone4

The ELM 327 wont pick-up my Iphone4 bluetooth connection hence I cant do anything.

The ELM 327 does seem to work ok as it does pick-up the bluetooth connection on other phones & my Apple Mac laptop.

Bluetooth on my Iphone works fine with other bluetooth devices such as Tom Tom & the factory BMW in-car bluetooth.

Was thinking of just getting the relevant software on my laptop and not using the Iphone but havnt found anything yet thats compatible with Apple Mac

Appreciate any tips or assistance.

Cheers

i phone bluetooth wont pick up anything other than head sets an things like that. it sucks for that. the bluetooth elm works with android. you need the wired or wifi one wich is like 150 i think.

I actually did a lot of research to be able to do this and figured out that the best option is Android believe it or not.

Purchased a Motorola Xoom Android Tablet
Torq app available for Android or Blackberry only, they have a free version but i donated to support the developer because it truelly is an amazing app that by far beats anything i found in the itune store for my ipad.
Bluetooth obdII reader i picked up on ebay and i have been able to do just about everything on my x5, m5 and jaguar xtype.

Have decided to cut my losses on the bluetooth obd reader ($30.00) & get the goPoint GL1 cable, by all reports its very stable & I can use any of the Apps on Itunes.
Dont really need another phone & already spent enough on Apps so hopefully all will work out ok.
Cheers - will post an update on performance when I get connected.
