tranmission connector sleeve leak

I saw a post regarding the leak on the zf transmission and have a question. It mentioned that the oil pan gasket doesn't leak but the transmission connector leaks.

I have a 2004 x5 manufactured in 02/04 with the GA6HP26Z zf transmission.

Is this one of the transmissions that leaks from the transmission connector sleeve?

Thanks,

Dom

I had the same problem. Dealer took care of it, since you can't change just the connector gasket. It requires removing the oil pan thus oil needs to be changed as well.

Edit: just to confirm that I have the same GA6HP26Z in my 2004 3.0d.

.

Is there any way of knowing whether its coming from the connector gasket or the oil pan gasket?

And,

do you recall how much the dealer charged you?

thanks

By visual inspection?

I can't recall the exact prize since there was other work done as well. But I think it was couple of hours of work + new tranny oils. Being in Finland, it of course means rip-off charge anyways (few hundred Euros).
