From fading memory, those rear 20s might have a rotational direction on the tire(s)...I assume they are rolling the proper way?
As for 'tire noise', it is hard to define and quite variable, but in my 48 years of driving a motley variety of cars/m'cycles, new tires always seemed very quiet and smooth to me, vs new tires given 'tire noise'. Something is amiss, but I can't nail it. GL, mD

All 4 tires are directional and are properly installed. By the tire noise, I meant that the newer tread is a bit more aggressive than the Michelin's that came off. Plus the old tires were quite worn and ready to be replaced. I think I am being a bit paranoid simply from all the horror stories I have read about problem X5's. (trans-axles and what-not.) In any case, the 4x4 light did come on and has made me feel very uncomfortable.
